KODAIKANAL: A free plastic surgery camp will be held at Pasam Hospital from March 23 to April 4. Internationally acclaimed surgeons from Germany will perform surgeries in the hospital to needy patients, said Dindigul Collector R. Vasuki,

In a press release issued here on Saturday, she said that those who were affected by any kind of burn injuries could avail treatment at the camp.

Those with ailments in eyes, ears, nose and lips by birth may register their names with the hospital for free treatment.

The toung war between CPI(M) politburo members V S Achuthanandan and Pinarayi Vijayan still continue.
On Saturday, Achuthanandan gave a apt reply to Pinarayi  by indirectly comparing him with Mikhail Gorbachev, who solemnized the fall of Soviet Union.
During  Nava Kerala Yatra, Pinarayi  had said, “Outside the party, a leader is nothing.”

Today I am sharing you with traditional Kerala recipe – Aviyal. Aviyal  is very popular dish in Kerala dining table. The main advantage of this dish is that you can make it with as few or as many vegetables as you have. I am describing below the way of preparing Aviyal

Ingredients:

1.  Cucumber (Vellarikka) 500 gm

    Carrot   100 gm

    Elephant yam (Chena) 500 gm

    Raw banana   1

    Drumstick    2

    Snake gourd (Padavalanga) 50 gm  

2. Salt    As required

3. Coconut   ½ cup

     Shallot   4

    Green chilly   2

     Chilly powder  1 teaspoon

     Turmeric powder  ½ teaspoon

     Cumin powder  ¼ teaspoon

4. Curd   2 tablespoon

5.  Curry leaves  2 stem

6.  Coconut oil   1 tablespoon

Cut the washed vegetables  into 2 inch long pieces. 

Cook these pieces by adding enough water and salt.

Grind ingredients 3 coarsely. 

Add this to the cooked vegetables.

When cooked properly add curd and curry leaves and mix well.
