Rajath Kapoor replaces Thilakan in Dame 999

Bollywood actor Rajath Kapoor has replaced the aced Malayalam actor Thilakan in the Hollywood movie Dame 999. The movie is directed by Sohan Roy. Earlier Thilakan was assigned for the role and was even paid the advance. But soon there occurred the rift between Thilakan and AMMA. AMMM suspended Thilakan temporarily.
Sohan made it clear that there should be a compromise between Thilakan and AMMA regarding the issue but Thilakan was adament and did not day sorry.. In this situation, Sohan decided not to take more risk and replaced Thilakan by Rajath.

Abhaya Case Narco Analysis test Video Published

The video tapes of CBI’s narco analysis Test on the three prime accused in the Sister Abhaya murder case ,Father Thomas Kottur, Father Jose Puthrikayil and sister Sephi —were telecast by Malayalam television channels on Monday. The video tapes of narco analysis were telecast by all leading Malayalam television channels such as India Vision, Asianet and Manorama News. This is the first time that television channels telecast videos on narco analysis tests. According to the chargesheet filed by the CBI, the three accused – Father Thomas Kottur, Father Jose Puthrikayil and Sister Sephi – were heavily responsible for the death of Abhaya. Abhaya, then a pre-degree student was hacked to death with an axe, the prosecution claimed.

Plan to set up Islamic banking in Kerala for NRKs

A suggestion to set up financial institutions based on the ideology of Islamic banking to attract interest free deposits from Non Resident Keralites is being considered by the Kerala government, finance minister T M Thomas Isaac said.

The consultant appointed to study the feasibility of such financial institutions in the state has already given a go ahead to the proposal, he said.

“The banking institutions will not give interest to depositors and will not take interest from borrowers,” he said. The investment would be used to set up industrial ventures and infrastructure projects and the profit from such ventures will given to the depositors.

He said there are many Financial institutions based on Islamic banking principles are operating in several parts of the world.

A Promoters’ Committee had been formed at a meeting held here on July 15 to study the proposal and they will meet again on August 12th at Calicut to give final shape to the proposal, he added.
